True End ★1

Yoshiki Kishinuma and Ayumi Shinozaki attempt to appease the two children spirits whom have taken Mayu Suzumoto hostage in the infirmary. Unfortunately, the appeasement backfires and the two spirits exit the room, taking Mayu with them. The next thing Yoshiki and Ayumi hear is Mayu's scream, followed by a loud slam. Ayumi throws the doll away and the two follow the sound, only to find a wall splattered with Mayu's pulverized corpse. Yoshiki, about to follow her, is abruptly struck by Yoshikazu Yanagihori with a sledgehammer and dragged away while unconscious.

The chapter ends by showing a vengeful spirit with Yui Shishido, laying beneath the shelf filled with sharp objects, alive but badly wounded with a broken right arm. She releases herself from the shelf and demands the spirit to tell her about the new students that are trapped in the school. From the answer the spirit gives, Yui believes those students are hers and decides to head back to check up on Ayumi and Yoshiki. As the screen darkens, Yui, speaking to herself, believes that the spirits are not the only ones trapped within the school walls, but their pain and hatred as well. Examining what she is screaming over, he finds a giant abyss of tormented spirits within the corner of the room. Believing that the horror is yet to end, one of the appeased spirits, named Yuki, appears before them. The students and the ghost start their conversation on appeasement.

Yoshiki, feeling confused and angry, asks Yuki why is she and the other two spirits trapping innocent lives in the school. Yuki explains to them that isn't true and that they are "just cogs that hold the closed spaces together." Still confused and angry, he rebukes with the fact that they killed Mayu but Ayumi stops him and wishes for the spirit to speak. Ayumi adds that her sister once said spirits who died violently become vengeful because their kind nature and hatred and panic "begin to spin around and around" until it becomes out of their control.

Although Yuki is unable to bring the students' friends back, Yuki tells them the way to get back home but they need to return to the closed spaces and put the Heavenly Host Elementary School victims to rest in order for the closed spaces to fall apart and rescue their friends. After the instructions are told, Ayumi asks why the previous appeasement failed. Yuki explains it by showing her the truth behind the Heavenly Host kidnap and murder case. He returns to the infirmary to ask her for help, but, before he can, she pulls out a pair of scissors and charges at Satoshi in an attempt to stab him. He then removes the scissors and, throwing it into the corner of the room, shouts at her for trying to kill him which causes her to cower in fear.

Fearful of death, Satoshi is unable to bring her back to her senses. He walks out of the room and "wishes Ms. Yui was here." Chapter 5

True End ★1

The Truth

The surviving members of Kisaragi Academy discover the truth behind the Heavenly Host Elementary School kidnap and murder case and Sachiko Shinozaki's past: Yoshiki and Ayumi, paralyzed on the staircase, witness the past murder of Sachiko and Yoshie Shinozaki by Takamine Yanagihori, the principal. While Satoshi, Naomi, and Yuka discover the truth by reading Yoshie's post-mortem diary, the mother of Sachiko.

On Yoshiki and Ayumi's side, the two spot Sachiko as a spirit and decide to hide and flee, but become paralyzed before doing so. Soon after, they see Sachiko when she was alive walking up the stairs and heard a voice. The voice is from Yoshie, fleeing from Takamine. As she is about to head downstairs, Takamine accidentally pushes her, breaking her neck from the fall. Sachiko witnesses this demise and flees from him. Unable to accept any witness, he chases Sachiko and strangles her to death. After Yoshiki and Ayumi witness this past, the two, free from the paralysis, flee the scene, questioning what they have seen.

On Satoshi, Naomi, and Yuka's side, the three students head to the infirmary. Due to a sudden headache and nosebleed occurring to both Naomi and Yuka, Satoshi goes in alone, grabs the diary lying on the desk, and flees outside with Naomi and Yuka. Once outside, the three proceed to read the diary. The diary states that Takamine attempted to rape Yoshie but she was able to flee and died when he pushed her down the stairs and killed Sachiko for witnessing it. Due to this event, Yoshie cursed Takamine and his bloodline as a revenge. As the three read on further, Yoshie states that Sachiko has been bringing children to her to keep her company, but Yoshie does not want the children and only wants her daughter. Some pages later, Yoshie explains that Sachiko's reason for bringing children changed from keeping Yoshie company to Sachiko's own pleasure. Soon after, Yoshie loses her wish to be with Sachiko and becomes proud of her daughter for bringing more children to keep her from being lonely.

Exploring the Abandoned Bomb Shelter

Once all the survivors learn the truth, they proceed to head toward the abandoned bomb shelter: Either through an incinerator (Yoshiki and Ayumi) or through the principal's office (Satoshi, Naomi, and Yuka).

On Satoshi, Naomi, and Yuka's side, they see the principal reliving his death. Satoshi sees a key where the principal fell and grabs it, and finds it to be the Principal's Key. Upon entering the principal's office, Takamine's voice is heard throughout the room. The students head to his desk and find a pouch. When Satoshi inspects it, he screams and sees a past moment of Takamine going into a mental collapse, stabbing Sachiko's buried body, and removing her tongue to keep her from speaking the truth. After Satoshi wakes up from the memory, he tells the two about what has transpired and that the pouch contains Sachiko's tongue.

Then they find a secret passage that leads to the abandoned bomb shelter and there they meet Shougo Taguchi, who flees the moment he sees Naomi, and heads to the dissection room. In there, they hear someone approaching and decide to hide under the table. The footsteps they hear is Shougo's, who is fleeing from Yoshikazu and hides in the cabinet, but is found and killed. Before Shougo's death, Seiko's body is dropped facing the three students with her lifeless eyes. Moments after, Seiko's body is taken away by Yoshikazu. Naomi, enraged by the sight, follows Yoshikazu to bring Seiko's body back. The siblings follow but lose track of Naomi.

On Yoshiki and Ayumi's side, they find an unknown room connected to another room that has a magic circle. Ayumi, unknowingly possessed, asks Yoshiki to move forward. Then, the door he exits from suddenly shuts itself and won't open. Soon after, Yui enters and meets Ayumi. Ayumi, after deluding herself into believing Yui's voice is a hallucination, feels relieved that she is alive. Soon, an earthquake commences, and the floor opens up. Ayumi manages to avoid death from the elevated height when Yui grabs and hangs onto the floor board that has not fallen. Yui, unable to support both of their weight, uses her damaged arm to hold on to the floor and orders Ayumi to climb.

Yoshiki eventually breaks down the door and is surprised to see Yui. Ayumi attempts to save her, but she orders the two to flee and tells Ayumi to "be strong." Yoshiki grudgingly does so and Ayumi, saddened over Yui's death, spouts how she doesn't care about living anymore. Yoshiki reminds Ayumi that Yui told her to be strong and that he isn't letting her sacrifice go to waste. Ayumi, now calmed, heads forward only to find Takamine going into the incinerator. They look inside it and find a yellow ribbon from Sachiko's dress and Sachiko crawling deep inside. Curious, the two go inside but hear Sachiko ordering them to turn back. The two continue on anyway and fall into to the corpse disposal room. Ayumi wakes up from her unconsciousness and is terrified by the sight of the many corpses within the area. She calls out to Yoshiki but, receiving no response, believes he has died. Yoshiki then comes out from the pile of corpse and the two flee the area.

The Appeasement

All the survivors, except Naomi, are together and head to the murder scene. Yuki appears before them and tells Ayumi is stricken with the darkening and that they must hurry. Satoshi asks what has happened to Naomi. A scene shows Naomi in a room with a television as she heads forward to see what it shows. Yuki answers that "she is fighting her own demon" and she'll be with them "if she's able to resist her own darkening." Yuki then warns the survivors to be prepared and reminds them that "the way out lies with Sachiko." After the conversation, they head inside but suffer from headaches upon entering. The students then see Sachiko's body and are demanded to leave. Satoshi vainly tries to negotiate with Sachiko and she continues to demand their leave.

Returning to Naomi, she watches a video tape made by Shougo which reveals that Seiko didn't commit suicide, but that she was murdered by a possessed Naomi. After seeing this, Shougo fled from Naomi and screamed for help before the television shuts off.

Back to the scene of the murder, everyone is paralyzed and the undead Sachiko walks over to Yuka and begins to harm her with a pair of scissors. Ayumi asks Satoshi to start the appeasement and make haste. Satoshi hands over Sachiko's tongue and her black cat plushie he found after reading Yoshie's diary, and Sachiko begins to scream in pain. Soon after, Sachiko disappears and Naomi enters the room. With everyone in the room they start the chant. With the chanting complete, Yuki, for one final time, appears and tells them the portal is open but thin, and that they must hurry or they will be trapped forever.

Ayumi asks Yuki what will happen to her and the other spirits. Yuki answers that they, except Sachiko, can't be freed from the school, and that the school is creating a "New Sachiko." Yuki then tells the survivors to flee the school while an earthquake occurs and her dress fades to red, signaling that she's becoming Sachiko's replacement. Everyone immediately flees to the hall connecting the main building to the second wing and are teleported back to Kisaragi Academy.

Epilogue

Satoshi, Naomi, Yuka, Ayumi, and Yoshiki regain consciousness and are glad that they were able to escape alive. The smiles and happiness soon dissipate as they see that their friends are not with them. As they prepare to go home, Ayumi tells them not to stay home and come to school. The next morning, the survivors head to school, but "fate had a sick twist" in store for them. All the students who weren't involved in the ordeal have no memories of the ones who are deceased, angering and saddening the survivors. Satoshi monologues that the school continues to harm innocent lives with a "New Sachiko" and the spirits who have been tortured in the school are "searching for respite from their sadness" and "a place to call home."

Later, Naomi and Satoshi are alone in their classroom. Naomi explains to Satoshi how Seiko died, without remembering committing such actions, and how she was surrounded by a black mist. A scene shows Naomi at the abandoned bomb shelter after she watched the video tape, frantic and hurt from the truth. The darkening begins to surround Naomi to the point of unconsciousness. Before she has completely succumbed, her cell phone rings, showing a text message received from Seiko. At first Naomi ignores it due to the belief that Seiko has a grudge against her for having been killed; however Seiko's text message is repeatedly sent until Naomi is convinced that Seiko is not angry with her. Returning to Kisaragi Academy, Naomi asks if the moments spent with Seiko when she was alive were true. After the students reach the hall that connects the main building and the second wing, Satoshi finds Naomi near the second wing entrance. Satoshi walks toward her. Unbeknownst to him, Yoshikazu is behind him with a pair of scissors in hand. Unwilling to allow Satoshi to die, Yuka lunges forward at Yoshikazu and is severely wounded. Immediately, Naomi disappears and Yoshikazu flees. Satoshi, devastated, sits in tears next to Yuka. Yuka, with little strength left, tells Satoshi that she loves him, not as a sibling. She wishes for her big brother to tell her, whether it's a lie or not, that he loves her too. After Yuka's last breath was spent, Satoshi explains that Yuka went into a fetal position as if she was asleep, with a peaceful expression.

After the remaining survivors return to the real world, Satoshi heads home, wondering how he can "break the news about Yuka." There he is surprised that his parents haven't noticed Yuka's absence. Satoshi then heads to his room and lays on his bed to think of a way to "breech the subject." He sees a box with a ribbon and a card on his desk. After reading the card, he hears rustling in Yuka's room. He explains that the only way to reach Yuka's room is through his room. After apologizing to Ayumi, the two head to the end of the room to get a piece of Naho's notes. Heading to the exit, Yoshiki questions if the anatomical model's location changed. Scared, Ayumi pushes Yoshiki, accusing him of trying to scare her. Once Yuuya comes dangerously close to her, Yoshikazu suddenly bursts into the room and kills Yuuya with his sledgehammer. Yoshikazu seems to have calmed down after killing him, but Sachiko appears and the ghoul screams and charges at Yuka.

Meanwhile, Yoshiki chose to remain in the real world when he and Ayumi finally return back to Kisaragi Academy. Due to this, Ayumi is forced to return alone in the cursed school. Yoshiki begins to walk out of the classroom, but is then greeted by an image of Satoshi. He realizes that it is only a figment of his imagination, and tries to leave again. But after continuously talked to by the images of his friends who are lost inside Heavenly Host, Yoshiki calls out to Yuki, saying that he changed his mind and wants to come back. Yuki appears and takes him back to Heavenly Host. When Ayumi returned to Heavenly Host Elementary School, she finds Naomi's student ID, which houses her paper doll scrap, before meeting up with Satoshi and Naomi.

Wrong End 2.

Once she meets Satoshi and Naomi, and talks to them about the others who died in Heavenly Host. After that, the two groups part ways, and Ayumi scolds herself for telling Naomi, "Don't get too close to Satoshi" and not being able to return Naomi's student ID back to her. Satoshi's group sets out to look for Yuka, but brings back only devastating news about Sakutaro Morishige. At this point, Ayumi reveals to Naomi that she has her student ID. But Ayumi refuses to return it unless Naomi begs, and the former thus proceeds to burn Naomi's paper doll scrap, thus destroying her only way back home. Naomi is devastated, but Satoshi tells her that they will find a way to resolve this situation, so they decided to come back but, on the way, Satoshi finds a photo which shows the corpse of his beloved sister. This enrages him, and he starts chasing Sachiko. Naomi follows him, but it's too late. Satoshi has reached the abandoned bomb shelter. Here he finds the lifeless body of Yuka. Satoshi can't stand the sight and he succumbs to the darkening. With his last bit of energy, Satoshi apologizes to Naomi and gives her Yuka's paper doll scrap, this way Ayumi and Naomi can go home together.

Ayumi searches for Yoshiki and Yui. She finds a room with a magic circle drawn out on the floor, and accidentally drops her paper doll scrap during an earthquake, which tumbles down a crack in the floor. She panics, and reunites with Yui, but she dies. Outside the room, she finds Yoshiki, who has succumbed to the darkening while searching for her.

Naomi's corpse smiling

Wrong End 2.

Ayumi eventually reached Naomi. Ayumi has a brief conversation with her, where she asks to give her Yuka's paper doll scrap. Naomi answers that she is a jackass. Ayumi gets angry and kills Naomi with a rock she picked off the ground with the goal of returning alone with Satoshi. But when she discovers that the latter has succumbed to the darkening, she wonders how she will go home. At that point, Ayumi realizes everything and turns to Naomi's corpse who is smiling, who died knowing Ayumi's inevitable fate.

Requirements:

  1. Allow Yuka to get caught by Yuuya.
  2. Play through the game normally afterward.
OR
  1. Allow Yuka to successfully escape from Yuuya.
  2. Let Yoshiki refuse to return to Heavenly Host with Ayumi. (Note: This option gives the same ending without the scene between Yuuya and Yuka, though Yuuya is still killed by Yoshikazu.)

Wrong End 4.

After Satoshi found Ayumi and Yoshiki in the abandoned bomb shelter, the group decides to go back to search for Naomi. On the way, they see a figure appear in the corridor. Hoping for it to be Naomi, the group calls out to her. Gradually, Satoshi is able to distinguish that it's indeed her, but notices that something's wrong. Naomi screams and runs at them, dragging the corpse of Seiko behind her. The sight causes the group to scream in fear, and Naomi proceeds to attack them.

Requirements:

  1. Allow Yuka to successfully escape from Yuuya.
  2. Let Yoshiki agree with Ayumi into returning to Heavenly Host.
  3. Read all five notes in Naho's notebook and confront Naho at the reference room.
  4. Pick up both the marble statue and the baby statue.
  5. Read Yoshie's diary found at the infirmary.
  6. Take or do not take Yuka to the abandoned bomb shelter's lavatory after Naomi separates from the siblings.
  7. After reuniting with Ayumi and Yoshiki in the abandoned bomb shelter, return to the fork in the path and head right.

Wrong End 4 ★6

After finding the area where Sachiko was buried, she appears before the group and paralyzes them. The students then give Sachiko the two items to appease her. However, Satoshi accidentally hands over a wrong item and begins to wonder if something went wrong and if they failed. Ayumi starts to yell and scream, and seems to leaves the area. Yuka warns Satoshi to look out. When he notices, Ayumi comes back and stabs him with, most likely, a pair of scissors. He yells out in pain and Ayumi turns and walks towards Yuka.

  6. Take Yuka to the abandoned bomb shelter's lavatory after Naomi separates from the siblings.
  7. Meet up with Ayumi and Yoshiki and head toward the murder scene.
  8. When appeasing Sachiko, give her Naho's Notebook or Mini-DV "Sin" Tape.

Wrong End 5 ★7

Method #1

After successfully appeasing Sachiko, the students re-chant the charm from the beginning once more. Accidentally, the students fail to succeed the chanting and they find themselves on the floor of a classroom. Yuki is found among the survivors and says, "My friends..." Ayumi calls out her name and Yuki begins to giggle and laugh and says, "Welcome to Heavenly Host Elementary School..."

  6. Take Yuka to the abandoned bomb shelter's lavatory after Naomi separates from the siblings.
  7. Meet up with Ayumi and Yoshiki and head toward the murder scene.
  8. After appeasing Sachiko, chant the "Sachiko Ever After" charm too many or not enough times.

(Note: Depending on which route you get, you will have to chant once more for Naomi. If she is present, she will join in right after the appeasing is over. Depending what you did earlier in the game, she will join if you didn't go to the abandoned bomb shelter's lavatories with Yuka. If you did go, she will not come in. This applies to if you will get the True End or the Other End. Technically, for some reason a Wrong End but does not count under the game options.)

Method #2

After chanting the chant correctly, Yuki will tell the students that now is the only time they can leave. While leaving the students hears a bell toll. After the sixth toll, the survivors begin to feel the air getting thicker. Unable to reach the hall that connects the two schools together before the seventh toll, a voice is heard saying, "The school day is now over. Any students still in the building... ...may never go home..."

Then everyone appears on the floor in a classroom. Yuki is seen among the group, dressed in red, and says "My friends..." Ayumi calls out her name, but Yuki begins to giggle and laugh and say, "Welcome to Heavenly Host Elementary School..."

  6. Claim the black cat plushie and Sachiko's tongue before entering the abandoned bomb shelter.
  7. Don't take Yuka to the abandoned bomb shelter's lavatories after Naomi separates from the siblings.
  8. Meet up with Ayumi and Yoshiki and head toward the murder scene.
  9. Appease Sachiko correctly.
  10. Fail to escape Heavenly Host in time; let the bell toll seven times. (Note: Pausing the game will still cause the bell to toll, even if you are in the game's pause menu.)

Wrong End 6 ★8

Satoshi manages to find Ayumi and Yoshiki. Immediately after, Naomi arrives, saddened because she wasn't able to find Seiko. Together, the group recites the prayer to Sachiko to return home. Satoshi wakes up in his room, with no memories of heading back home after escaping Heavenly Host. Yuka comes to wake him up, seemingly oblivious to what happened the night before. He goes to school, and finds that Seiko, Mayu, Sakutaro, and Yui are all alive, and begins to think that everything that happened was simply a terrible dream.

However, he soon realizes that everything that's happening is exactly the same as it was the day of the cultural festival and only he remembers their time in Heavenly Host. He tries his hardest to stop the group from performing the charm again later that night, but they don't listen, and he forces himself to join them, wondering how he can save them this time.

Requirements:

  1. Allow Yuka to successfully escape from Yuuya.
  2. Let Yoshiki agree with Ayumi into returning to Heavenly Host.
