Plot[]

The film opens on a rainy night at Kisaragi Academy Senior High. Facing goodbyes and graduation, Naomi Nakashima, her childhood friend Satoshi Mochida, and their classmates; Seiko Shinohara, Yoshiki Kishinuma, Sakutaro Morishige, Mayu Suzumoto are clearing up after their last cultural festival, when class representative Ayumi Shinozaki decides to perform "Sachiko Ever After" so they will stay friends forever. Their teacher Yui Shishido comes in with Satoshi's younger sister Yuka Mochida. The class performs the ritual together but are swallowed away to a different dimension. They find themselves in a haunted graduation ceremony for Heavenly Host Elementary School, forced to close years ago after a series of gruesome murders.

The girls read newspaper articles detailing a serial killer of two children, Yuki Kanno, Ryou Yoshizawa, and a girl, Sachiko Shinozaki, gone missing. A man with a hammer, Yoshikazu Yanagihori, smashes Yui in the face. Terrified, the students run and split up. Naomi twists her ankle and is put in the infirmary; Yuka disappears. Naomi encounters the ghost of Yuki and argues with Seiko, who leaves and passes out. Ayumi and Yoshiki find Mayu chatting with Yuki and Ryou, the two ghosts who then kill Mayu. Naomi finds Seiko hanged. Yuka comes across an insane Sakutaro. Yoshikazu kills Sakutaro when a mysterious girl in a red dress takes Yuka out of the room.

Ayumi and Yoshiki discover a video cassette and a jar of severed tongues. The duo rejoins Satoshi and Naomi and watch the video recorded by a famous spiritualist Kou Kibiki. Kou and his assistant explore the school before facing their demise. He explains that in order to return home, the school's curse must be lifted and use their paper slips correctly. Naomi has lost her paper slip. Ayumi actually has Naomi's slip but begins to succumb to jealousy because of Naomi's relationship with Satoshi, whom Ayumi is obsessed with. She gives Naomi a fake slip and secretly burns Naomi's real slip. Ayumi and Yoshiki encounter Yuki and Ryou. In the struggle, Ayumi manages to return their severed tongues, which appease and calm them down. Yuki shows Ayumi a vision that the perpetrator is, in fact, Sachiko.

Yuka wakes up tied down and is murdered by Sachiko. Ayumi finds Yuka's dead body. Yoshikazu charges onward but Yoshiki sacrifices himself to allow them to escape. Naomi discovers Seiko's true death when looking at a video recorded by the security cameras. Naomi happened to be possessed and killed Seiko. Believing Seiko will never forgive her, Naomi breaks down until Seiko's spirit sending her text messages indicating that she has forgiven her. Naomi holds a pendant she found and sees a vision of the past that shows the school's nurse Yoshie Shinozaki, Sachiko's mother, being pushed down the stairs by the principal, breaking her neck. Sachiko witnessed the incident and was strangled by the principal, who hid her body to erase the evidence. This began the curse.

Naomi and an injured Satoshi uncover Sachiko's body. Another vision is shown where Sachiko's spirit causes the principal to suffer for his misdeed and his son Yoshikazu left in misery. The body rises and attacks Satoshi and Naomi. Ayumi arrives with Yuka's body. Refraining Sachiko, Ayumi reads out loud from a diary how Yoshie doesn't want her daughter killing anybody and to pass on peacefully. With the school collapsing, the trio proceed with the ritual. Naomi and Ayumi make it back home with each holding Satoshi's detached arms (Satoshi used the fake slip and gave Naomi his).

In a post-credits scene, Naomi is in her room along with Sachiko, and they gaze at each other.
